My favorite poem is the song "Night Changes" by One Direction. This has been my favorite poem since sophomore year. Unlike many of One Direction's most popular songs, which are often upbeat singalongs, "Night Changes" is much more calm and relaxed. The song is about a romantic relationship, telling the story of two people getting ready for a date. The lyrics describe how both people are nervous as they prepare, getting dressed and driving over. In the bridge, Zayn sings about how as kids grow into adults and begin dating and having romantic relationships, they lose a piece of their innocence. In the Chorus, One Direction also sings about how people grow up quickly, and how life changes fast. Listening to the song often makes me think about my own life, and how quickly things change. While the song is about romance, many of the lyrics and messages can be applied to life changing in general. When I listen to "Night Changes", I often think about my own life and how its changed and how fast time flies.
